Rotary Lottery (September 2014 to April 2015)

The Rotary Club of Evesham, supported by local restaurants and The Evesham Journal, ran a lottery to raise money for the Evesham Bell Tower Appeal! The lottery is NOW CLOSED (so you’ve missed your chance!); and many thanks to Evesham Rotary for all their hard work in putting this together.

On Wednesday 3rd June Bell Tower Appeal Committee Chair, Sue Ablett, met with Hein van Der Steen, who had the vision for the Rotary Lottery, to receive a cheque for £1,800 – the profits from the scheme. Also in the photo, Graham Brown, landlord of two of the participating pubs in the scheme.

So what have you been missing? Well, each month there was a prize draw with TEN winners (drawn randomly by computer; with prizes also randomly matched to winners). Each prize was a DINNER FOR FOUR! with ten local restaurants supporting this excellent scheme:

The prizes which were on offer were the following excellent fare:

  • Beefeater – The Orchard: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course and a starter or dessert.
  • Bridge Inn & Ferry: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course.
  • Raphael’s Restaurant: Sunday carvery for four guests.
  • Round of Gras: Wednesday or Sunday carvery special for four guests.
  • Royal Oak: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course and a starter or dessert and a bottle of wine..
  • Thai Lotus: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course and a starter or dessert.
  • Trumpet Inn: Sunday lunch for four guests consisting of a main course, puddings and a bottle of house wine.
  • Wheatsheaf Inn: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course.
  • Wood Norton: Dinner for four guests consisting of a main course and a starter or dessert.
  • Yumi Yumi: Dinner for four guests;  Menu C (£14.50/head) or something similar. Menu C consists of a starter (crispy aromatic duck or chicken satay) and a main course (Kung Po chicken or Chilly beef or King prawn & mushrooms and special fried rice).
