Friday 10th October 2014: Bike Auction

The bike, valued at £199, was kindly donated by Halfords for a raffle at our recent Pedal Power event. The winner, Tricia Smith, is a confirmed tricycle rider, so decided to donate it to the Appeal to auction. How excellent is that!? Total from this auction: £110.
Saturday 11th October 2014: Local history day school.
A fascinating day organised by the Vale of Evesham Historical Society and hosted in All Saints’ church. Many thanks to our expert speakers who guided us through the history and glory of bells, belfries, chimes, time-keeping, and the buildings of Abbot Clement Lichfield (the builder of the Bell Tower!). After two guided tours – one of the ringing chamber (Chris Povey) and one of St Lawrence’s (Jim Jarvis) – everyone settled down to hot soup and a slap-up lunch. Refreshed and reinvigorated, everyone enjoyed the closing talks before close, thanks, and a final coffee before heading home! Total raised £440.
“I just wanted to thank you for such an interesting day on Saturday. It was beautifully prepared and organised and so full of interest and I heard very many positive and appreciative comments on the day and how full of interest it was for all of us.I do hope there will be another similar day before too long.” Ian Lloyd-Oswell
