“My wife and I would like to say how much we enjoyed the Lygonian Singers concert ‘Love is in the Air’. The acoustics of St Lawrence’s Church enabled the singers to provide a lovely sound. It was a perfect way to spend a Saturday evening – and a glass of wine in the interval too! The pieces sung by the soloists complemented those sung by the choir and overall the balance and choice of programme was appropriate for the occasion. Thanks must go to Barbara Bees, the Singers’ Musical Director, for putting together a superb evening. If this is the calibre of events to be mounted by the Bell Tower Appeal Fund Committee then we shall look forward to attending more in the future.” Mr and Mrs L from Evesham attended the Concert
Sunday 9th June 2013: Plant and Herb Sale (beside the Bell Tower)
Together with bric-a-brac and books, the total raised was: £174.
“Often good things come in small packages and this was the case on Sunday afternoon. Nestling by the Bell Tower we found a small staff selling plants and herbs. Books were also for sale. Not intending to buy anything, we were so taken by the camaraderie of the Bell Tower Committee who were promoting this little sale, that we walked away with plans and strawberries! It was a pleasure to part with some hard earned cash to a group whose dedication and enthusiasm to save the Bell Tower was clearly apparent!” (Mr and Mrs L from Evesham)
Sunday 23rd June 2013: Evesham Food Festival
Festival held in All Saints’ Church grounds, including a stall for the Bell Tower Appeal. Total raised, including donations, sales of merchandise and teas: £285.54
“Well it wasn’t the warmest of days to man a stall but we sold some of our increasing range of merchandise, pursued good opportunities for networking and had plenty of positive comments from passers indicating their real commitment to conserving the Bell Tower. It is what makes Evesham so special” said one visitor to the stall.” (Sue Ablett, Bell Tower Appeal Committee)
